SEA ASPARAGUS RECIPE | Healthy seaweed


A great sea asparagus recipe, with rice. Very simple yet delicious. Sea asparagus is a lesser-known seaweed that can bring a fresh and salty sea flavor to any meal. Whether as part of a warm dish or on a green salad, raw or cooked, sea asparagus will be a novel addition to your preferred dishes. Try it!

Ingredients

  • 1 C chopped sea asparagus, plus a little more for garnish

  • 1 C chopped yellow bell-pepper

  • 1 C chopped orange bell-pepper

  • 1 C chopped green bell-pepper

  • 1 C chopped celery

  • ½ of one finely chopped jalapeno pepper (optional)

  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

  • Zest of one lemon

  • Juice of one lemon

  • 2 C white rice

  • 4-5 C of water

  • 2-3 Tbsp soy sauce


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil.

  2. Add rice to olive oil and coat with oil.

  3. Add celery, bell pepper and jalapeno to rice and coat with oil.

  4. Add garlic and mix well with rest of ingredients.

  5. Sauté all ingredients until rice starts to brown.

  6. Add sea asparagus and lemon zest and mix with rest of ingredients.

  7. Lower heat and add water little by little, starting with only enough water to barely cover the rice. Add water as it gets absorbed, until rice is almost cooked.

  8. Add last half cup of water along with soy sauce and lemon juice. Mix with rice and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.

Serve hot and enjoy!
