Dulce de Leche | Mexican dessert


This dulce the leche is an easy recipe for the best dessert comfort food. It is a traditional Mexican dish, very simple to make and it is a complement to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 C heavy cream

  • ½ C table sugar

  • 2 sticks of Mexican cinnamon

  • 8 Tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 C cold water

  • 1 vanilla bean or a tsp of vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Dissolve cornstarch in cold water, set aside.

  2. Heat heavy cream while you add sugar and mix well.

  3. Add cinnamon sticks and heat until it starts to boil, but don’t let it boil.

  4. Add dissolved cornstarch and water and mix well.

  5. Simmer until whole mixture thickens, stir regularly to avoid burning or sticking to pot.

  6. Remove cinnamon sticks.

  7. Add vanilla, stir in, and remove from heat.

  8. Pour into serving dish while it is still hot.

  9. Allow to cool completely and enjoy!
